At Gloucester Saxons, we’re proud to be driving the growth of girls’ basketball across the South West
Nationally, Basketball England continues to prioritise female participation through initiatives such as Her World, Her Rules; a programme designed to create more opportunities for girls to play, develop confidence, and build lifelong skills through basketball.
These initiatives highlight a simple truth: when girls are given the right environment, they thrive in sport.
At Gloucester Saxons, we are committed to creating welcoming, high-energy spaces where girls can learn the game, compete, and feel they truly belong. From girls-only teams and inclusive coaching approaches, we are building opportunities for girls no matter their ability.
But this is about more than basketball. It’s about confidence. Resilience. Friendship.
It’s about ensuring every girl who walks into our sports hall knows this game is for her.
As participation grows nationally, Gloucester Saxons are proud to be at the forefront of that movement in the South West; setting the standard for opportunity, inclusion, and ambition in girls’ basketball.
