The Gloucester Saxons are a not-for-profit community basketball club deeply connected to Gloucester; a city shaped by history.
Inspired by the Saxon warriors who once settled and defended this land, the name reflects strength built through unity and pride in place. Gloucester’s roots run deep, and The Saxons draw from that legacy of standing firm, working together, and protecting what matters.
The club embraces an identity that mirrors both the spirit of basketball and the character of Gloucester itself, representing discipline, courage, and loyalty; values passed down through generations and carried onto the court today.
Every time The Saxons compete, they do so as representatives of their city, playing for one another and for the community they are proud to call home.
Behind the scenes, a passionate group of coaches, parents, and basketball-loving volunteers are coming together to help shape the future of the Saxons.
Our new board will reflect the values of our club, our community and our shared love of the game.
We know great things don’t happen overnight, but we’re proud of what is taking shape.
