The Saxons were treated to a special 1v1 attacking skills session on court, led by an experienced guest coach with an impressive basketball résumé.
Leading the session was Director of Basketball, Tony Wilburn, who brought a wealth of NCAA and professional experience to the floor. Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, Tony developed his game in the United States, competing at collegiate level before going on to play professionally in Europe.
Since moving into coaching, Tony has built a strong reputation for developing successful basketball programmes across the south west of England. His experience as both a player and coach gave him a unique perspective on the game, and that was exactly what made the session so valuable.
The focus was 1v1 attacking skills, one of the most important elements for any young player looking to elevate their game. From creating space and breaking down defenders to making smart decisions under pressure, players had the opportunity to sharpen their offensive skillset in a competitive, high energy environment.
Opportunities to learn directly from someone who competed at NCAA level and played professionally in Europe provided invaluable insight for young athletes eager to take the next step.
For aspiring ballers ready to improve their confidence and attacking ability, it was a session not to miss.
